The Cafe Racer era is definitely here to stay. Its started off with a garage project of some 80s motorcycle, stripped, rebuilt and hours and hours later a good looking raw cafe racer. Now the big brands want to cash in on the fashion and Ducati are among the latest to produce the Scrambler which comes in 4 different models. They did not only produce the bike but with it, came t-shirts, cups and all sorts of non-essential equipment.

The bike looks good even though you can see they have built a retro looking bike on a modern base. Meaning it has all the latest gadgets on what you can expect from a modern bike. With this also the limits exist in terms of rebuilding.

We tested the bike on and offroad outside Dubai. The bike delivers comfort, rigid feeling but lacking passion and vibration of feel-good. Suspension is not very confident-giving for some gravel. Power comes at high-rpm which in our opinion is not ideal for Dubai. We have speedbumps, stoplights and highways. Meaning we want to have fun with torque inbetween the obstacles. The wind-drag is pretty high as expected for a bike with this seating position. Brakes are excellent and grip well.

Summary, if you like the looks but do not want a Monster then buy it. If you want passion and a bike that vibrate your inner soul go for something more in that direction, Royal Enfield or Triumph perhaps?
