The first Baja desert Championship took place at Lisaili on Al Ain road next to the camel market. A hot and humid day with no or next to no wind made the riders put in their best efforts.
The Loop which is around 20-30minutes for most bike riders are on a clockwise rotation with straights in all directions, meaning sun and dunes in all your possible directions to cross. Fastest bikes did 6 laps and the starts are in batches of approximately 8-10riders every minute. So if you fast it makes sense to start a few fields than first to gain time, however the race organizers try to put the fastest riders first.
Fastest rider for the day was Sam Sunderland with the fastest lap as well tightly followed by Ross Runnalls, 3rd fastest overall was Mohammed Balooshi. All 3 on KTM SXF 450s.
